About the Webinar

In preparation for the EUDIS Defence Hackathon 2025, this Dutch pre-hackathon webinar will introduce Challenge 1: Protection of Space Assets.

Europe’s navigation, communication, and earth observation satellites are increasingly under threat from anti-satellite weapons, orbital jammers, and cyberattacks. This challenge calls for innovative solutions to strengthen space domain awareness and countermeasures.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • Detection and anomaly analysis systems (in orbit and on the ground)
  • Data processing, APIs, algorithms, and visualisation tools
  • Protective technologies for space infrastructure
  • Simulated countermeasure systems

The webinar will also feature a presentation by Karol Masztalerz, Chief Research Officer and co-founder of AquaHub, the team that won EUDIS 2024.

Drawing on his experience in building award-winning prototypes and leading innovation teams, he will share practical insights on how to prepare effectively for the hackathon. His talk will highlight lessons learned from AquaHub’s journey, strategies for turning ideas into working solutions within a short timeframe, and best practices for pitching to jury panels.

Presentation: Preparation for the Hackathon – Best Practices from AquaHub, EUDIS 2024 Winner

Additional speakers will be confirmed shortly.
